The Society of European Stage Authors and Composers, or SESAC, is a performing rights organization founded in 1930. SESAC collects fees for the performance of music and distributes the fees as royalties to the songwriters, composers, and publishers. SESAC was originally founded for Europeanís only but has since expanded world-wide. It is the smallest of the three performing rights organizations officially recognized by the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976.
